Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall

Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall, Coldplay

“I’d rather be a comma than a full stop.”

I’d rather be the link, the mediator, than let things end even if they can, even if they should. I will step in and make life go on. I will step in and make a change. I won’t let it end.

“I feel my heart start beating to my favorite song.”

I can feel my heart beat faster just realizing that Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall is starting! Honestly, it’s one of the best feelings, when your heart almost synchronizes with the beats of your favorite song, when you feel the music lift you up like a tender, invisible second layer, shielding you and providing you with strength you didn’t possess a minute before. Music is the reason why some hearts are still beating. That much is true. Our hearts beat all the time, but to music, it’s a whole new magic.

“Every siren is a symphony, and every tear’s a waterfall.”

Perception here is very relative, and it’s beautiful. One second can be a lifetime. One tear can become an ocean. I believe there’s a world where this must be true.

“Maybe I’m in the gap between the two trapezes.”

It’s an unusual image. I imagine two trapezes drawn in thick black lines and Chris is stuck in the middle, trying to find a way out, but the lines are too thick, too heavy. He barely has a wiggling room in-between.
